Off to USA!

Ian and I are on our way to the next UDMA Dance Resource and Costume Show in Atlanta. We are looking forward to meeting up with you if you saw Carrie on our booth last year as well meeting lots of new people.

We left our Devon home on a glorious autumn morning so had to have a walk round the garden before we left. I just had to share this real life stage prop which was growing in the garden!

A visitor from Australia

Last week my lovely friend Jane Devine came back to Devon so Ian and I took her out to supper so we could catch up on all the Australian dance news.

Jane was a Genee medalist and danced with The Royal Ballet Company. Eventually she moved to Devon and became my PA before moving to Australia to be with family.it was so lovely to see her again-and we had a great meal too!

NATD London Meeting

I was very warmly welcomed to the NATD London meeting where the new logoed uniform which we have just launched. was shown for the first time. Some delightful young girls modelled the leotards, all of which have the NATD logo on them and you can see them here with myself and Annette Pearson who has worked really hard with the Theatre committee to create this lovely new uniform range.

Everyone at IDS wishes all members good luck with their New Look NATD and we look forward to a long and happy partnership.

Danceworks Devon offically opens!

Last Saturday I was invited to cut the ribbon and officially “open” the new Studios of Danceworks Devon in Newton Abbot. Ian came with me and we had a lovely time and were looked after beautifully by Pauline and Rob who have worked so hard on a pretty derelict building to turn it in to a fabulous venue offering lots of different classes. here is a view of the main studio.

A busy start to the New Term!

It has been an incredibly hectic summer with IDS represented at three major US dance teacher events and our very special catalogue launch at the Royal Ballet School as well as the first ever International Dance Teacher Conference which IDS staged at the Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden.
Now it’s back to the start of another busy school year for us all.
This weekend we will be helping some very good customers and friends to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of their school and I will be popping down to Plymouth to meet Desmond Kelly as he launches the Ballet Associate Programme for Elmhurst Ballet School.
Saturday night also sees the launch of the new series of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC 1 and everyone at IDS will be cheering on Anton after he stole the hearts of many of us at our Conference. Here’s my favourite conference moment!
